How secure is the password database for WP?

Is the data encrypted at all. Could you pleased describe how passwords are kept?

He might have accidentally not capitalized the first letter of his username. or capitalized the second letter by mistake. The passwords were my first thought when I successfully logged in despite that the first time.

That flaw was how I found out the site was only reskinned and not really fixed.

Because if the database is insecure then my password would be easily be able to be obtained by hackers.
