Hello,
Do I need specific permission to post a one time notice about a research study for adults with ASD? I am a nurse researcher studying ASD in adults, and I am conducting an online survey study (approved by the University of Vermont Institutional Review Board, unfunded by any agency) on barriers to receiving a formal diagnosis in adults who are formally or self-diagnosed with ASD. I have included the message I would like to post below. Please let me know if this will be okay. If you would rather not, of course I understand. I do not want to make anyone feel bombarded or like "subjects" when they are simply looking for a place to find support and share ideas. That said, if you are okay with it, I am hopeful that this research may benefit individuals with ASD by serving as a microphone to the voices of adults that are often unheard by the research community. Thank you so much for your help and your consideration!

Hello,

My name is Laura Lewis and I am a nurse and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Vermont. I am looking for individuals who may be willing to participate in a research study about barriers to being formally diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as an adult. The study is entitled, “Barriers to formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in adults.”

I am looking for individuals who have been self-diagnosed or formally diagnosed with an ASD when you were 18 years old or older. Participation is entirely online and includes completing a survey about the types of barriers you faced in getting or formal diagnosis if you are diagnosed, or the reasons that you are not formally diagnosed if you are self-diagnosed. It will likely take about 30 minutes to complete. You must be 18 years or older to participate.

To find out more about this study or to participate, please see the study website: survey.uvm.edu/index.php/926548/lang-en
or visit my website: autismspectrumresearch.com/

Thank you for your consideration!
Laura Lewis, RN, PhD

It's mostly the cost, in my opinion...especially in a US context.

This seems like a useful study and there are many suitable respondents here.
Are you interested in international data or just from the US?

I believe that the normal process here is to ask permission from the site owner/developer:

If you want attention or clarification from a moderator it is best to post on this thread:

Thank you! I am looking for an international sample, not limited to the US. I will try to PM Alex as well. Thanks again!

I seen a lot of surveys on this forum so I think it is OK. And even if it isn't - noone really cares.

BTW. Filled.
