This makes 16, I feel that this problem is severely affecting the site users and is also responsible for the large number of posts where only a quote is shown as the response has been captchaed.

Those who rely on the site are affected by posting less, giving up on posts or avoiding WP entirely. I'm sure new members would be put off pretty quickly once they have had to deal with the captchas and losing posts.

It would be great to hear from the site management if anything has or will be down about this issue rather than just being left in the dark.

Hope somebody doesn't come up with a counting thread based on CAPTCHAS.

The Captcha function does seem to have ramped up a bit; but this presents no problem no me. It's very easy to use, and presents only a momentary delay in posting when used properly. It seems to be a user problem, and not a website problem.

I have noticed there is A LOT less activity here these days. I'm pretty sure the captcha is to blame, no matter how much Fnord supports Alex. It has taken 10+ tries for me to post sometimes, and even then I stopped counting at that because the website made it impossible to post.

Everybody is fed up with it.

Save your post to clipboard before posting.
When you've written your post press ctrl+a, then ctrl+c.
If you lose your post, you clear the message box and press ctrl+v to paste.

It usualy takes me one try to post when confronted with a Captcha; sometimes two if someone else post a reply before me.

My support for Alex is not blind support, by the way. I've forwarded a few suggestions in the past that went unanswered. No worries. This is his website, not mine.

It seems to have ramped down for me personally over the last week, and now only goes via Captcha when including quotes or links. In that case I go back, copy the text and then press submit and it usually goes through. I don't post very much but have started to notice lots of posts which include quotes but no response, which obviously affects the continuity of the thread.

I don't believe everyone who is experiencing problems is registering that issue, or coming here to look for a technique to beat the system.

I like WP and would hate to see it slowly grind to a few posters rather than the eclectic site that it has been in the past. Yes, the site has bugs and most are tolerable. This seems to be a bigger problem. As so many members have recorded this as an issue, I feel it would be nice to know what the future holds. Any response would be better than no response.
