What Caused This?

I was looking around the Forum Index a few minutes ago, scrolling up and down (didn't click on anything), when the message reproduced below suddenly appeared. Was this just a glitch, or is there something more significant going on here?

Were you scrolling with a touch pad or screen, or were you using a mouse and arrow keys?

It's easy to inadvertently touch the wrong portion of the touch pad (or screen) and activate one of those pop-ups. Mousing around or using arrow keys usually do not produce this problem.

Thanks for the suggestion, Fnord, but no - I was just using a standard external optical mouse.

I've noticed quite a few oddities while on WP in the past few days, notably an occasional lack of response to the keys when typing, or a very delayed response: some words end up with half the letters missing. On one occasion also, a page appeared with every sentence in every post blacked out, exactly as if it were a redacted CIA document. Weird.
