I've just logged in, and it took my to someone else's profile settings, like where you go to edit your profile/account.
I went to delete the profile picture at the bottom as the test, and I got a blank page that siad "Are you sure you want to do this?" with nothing else on it. I ctrl+F5 and it went to my profile.

I took a screenshot of it:

For such a popular forum it's too bad the website itself totally sucks in many ways...

Thank you. A few other users have had that same problem you experience, I'm relieved it at least gives you a warning before trying to mess with someone else's stuff, not that it would to much.

This sounds spooky, almost like something out of a creepypasta. Wow.

Kinda off topic but I find computer based creepypastas incredibly stupid and mildly humorous. I am reminded of one where someone's youtube possessed their computer and not even removing the power cord helped LOL. I guess it was power over ethernet that somehow managed to power an entire processor and video card, so stupid when you think about it. Must have been some huge capacitors to even stay on 30 seconds after the computer lost power. My 1200 Watt power supply will power my computer for about five seconds after unplugging it and I thought that was a long time.

Anyway I did have a point posting here and not just rambling, is my email at risk of being exposed to another user? How common are these user bugs that show other peoples information? I find this disturbing, are you guys trying to fix it?

This is actually quite disturbing.

So our private information such as e-mail addresses can be stumbled upon and exposed to other members, accidentally?

That is seriously not good enough.

I appreciate this site, I appreciate Alex for creating and running it, and I never forget that it's free of charge for me to use so I try not to complain about the site. But this particular glitch is quite a serious breach of information that some of us wish to keep private.

When I first seen it, I thought someone had hacked my account, changed my username and email and I was freaking out. I've experienced a lot of weird/unexplained computer problems. I'm glad it wasn't what I had thought and that you apparently can't change other users information if this happens. Nevertheless scary, though.

only at risk when the same incident that afflicted the OP happens to you, which as i see it, is increasingly common, yet still rare. no word from alex or any others on whether it's being fixed at the moment.

Off topic, but I really like computer based creepypasta, my fave being The Other Internet. The blank page asking if you're sure could be a deep web horror story as well.
