Yes, all of the threads on the first page of that forum (Apart from the sticky ones) are those spam threads. I hope someone does something about it soon.

You can report these in the 'MODERATOR ATTENTION: How to get help when you need it' thread.

You can also click on the Report button at the bottom right of a couple of their posts.

What I don't understand is how these bots keep getting past CAPTCHA but sometimes genuine members like us can't.

Filling in numbers or letters when submitting my post is fine with me if it did stop the bots from posting crap on the forum and also wasn't so glitchy. I mean, why does it do that thing where you enter the numbers/letters correctly but it just goes round in circles and doesn't let your post go through?

It may be easy on the computer, but when using a mobile device it's impossible to get your post through once you've got the CAPTCHA thing come up. I don't have anywhere to copy and paste to, so I've got to paste it on to messages and save it as a draft until the CAPTCHA decides to let me post.

in my experience, and that of some others, the captchas only activate when a user quotes another user within their post, and sometimes, when a user posts in an existing thread.

these bots perform neither of these actions hence why they have an easy time getting past the captcha. just a theory.

some other bots we has in the past have messed up existing threads and those were a bigger pain to fix, but i think the captchas weren't as strict then. i've never seen a spambot use quotes, though.

I hardly ever use quotes but I still get the CAPTCHA.

yes, it never activates the same for any two users.... it seems.

i still feel as though we'd be getting lots more spam without a captcha, though.
