White webpages really strain my eyes. I hear light sensitivity is common in those with autism, so I'm curious why the website is so white and bright. There isn't even an official way to change to a dark theme, though I am using Stylish's Clean Dark for forum browsing.

It might just be me, so I'm curious if anyone else feels the same.

I have changed my color options for monitor display, so for me it's not too bright.
But if I didn't it would be too bright, yes.

Yes it's way too bright. Not enough contrast. The tables need darker, thicker borders to break up the white space. It looks washed out and it hurts my eyes.

I use a widescreen tv as a monitor and everything is spread out too wide. I'd like to see a sidebar menu or something similar to help break up the space. Or a dark background. It would be wonderful if we had a few different color layouts to choose from.

You must be a troll, because I've seen you make numerous posts which seem intended to do nothing but piss people off.

Stop trying to cause trouble.

Back off, Kevin. Dianthus is no more negative than anyone else, and she doesn't deserve to have you stalking or criticizing her.

I am not stalking, I click on most recent topics, and about 4/10 witch is a lot by the way her name is one of the topic hosts or last post, and usually under interesting things. and most of her comments are indeed negative. its like I aim directly for her, but I mean K is nice, sly is nice, drawyer is nice. I know a lot of wrongplanet members that help people. she is constantly attacking men or trying to change wrongplanet. I was wrong a few posts ago with the generalizations but this one is true.

If you don't like someone, then avoid them. You can't go around being hostile towards someone for no good reason, or you are going to get reported.

If she's not doing anything to you, then leave her alone. If you think her posts break the rules, then you can report them. But what you said before was entirely inappropriate, uncalled for, and had absolutely nothing to do with this thread.

And it was not a nice thing to say, either.

Hey leave dianthus alone.

I've never noticed her being overly negative; she's actually a very, very good poster around here. She's intelligent, thoughtful, friendly and decent. She doesn't play games, she's not out to get YOU, she just says what she feels needs to be said in a calm way. She's one of the best people on this site and then you come along with 61 posts to your name and attack her.

An awful lot of people are not going to put up with that, so quit it.

Back to the topic....the site is very, very bright. Personally I don't mind that; I have a lot of sensitivities and sensory problems, but light doesn't seem to be one of them. I like brightness, light, in general. And on websites I actually don't like dark sites. That's just my personal tastes though. I'm fine with how bright it is here but I can see how it would bother others.

WP's current layout has a lot of white space, which can be straining on the eyes. I'd like to see a feature like what some other forums have where you can choose different skins or color schemes for the site's interface. IMO, something like the green and blue scheme WP used to have prior to the 2014 switchover would be fantastic.

Here's a way to tone-it-down / go-back to the old green and blue----I did it; it's WONDERFUL!!

Oh thank you for posting this. I had forgotten about it. I wasn't using Firefox at the time, but I am now, and this fix works beautifully (Firefox on the other hand, crashes just as often as IE, and doesn't live up to all the hype about it)

It's not just you. The design is terrible for people with sensitivity issues.
