Disappearing threads

Why do threads keep suddenly disappearing? Today I posted in a thread and about 20 minutes later I went to look at the thread again and it had disappeared.

It was a thread about body language.

Also this happened to a couple of other threads too in the last few days.

Maybe someone found something offensive about it and complained to the moderators.

Maybe you only thought that you had clicked on the "Submit" button.

Maybe you clicked on the "Submit" button and a software glitch occurred.

The moderators probably deleted it, or the person who created it.

Possibly a mistaken casualty in a mass spam sweep.
I'll find it and bring it back.

I knew my post got submitted because after submitting I read it to make sure it definitely had been posted there (I do that these days).

Usually threads with offensive posts in get locked, unless there must have been someone posted something extremely and unthinkably offensive within the 20 minutes I wasn't online.

A thread I made earlier today has disappeared. I got 2 replies, now suddenly the whole thing has vanished. It was about decorating.

Does any mods know where it's gone, and if you can get it back? I am not a spam bot. I am a genuine user of WP, been here for 6 years.

It would be really helpful if you could say what the thread was about and what forum it was in.

I looked through your recent posting history to see if there was anything I could identify that might be the thread your asking about and found a thing about decorating your room that looks like it got accidentally caught up in a mass spam sweep.

I would be happy to pull it back for you, but I don't know what forum it came from and it would be an inordinate amount of work to try to use mod tools to find out, so if you could let me know, I would be happy to fix it for you.

I'm sure these deletions are purely accidental and the result of somewhat clunky moderating tools, not any confusion between you and a spambot!
