My question is: To what extent, if any, may a member who has written a book-length fiction manuscript and published it, say, on Amazon, Smashwords, etc. refer to it on this forum with an obvious intent to "plug" it?
Also, if the member wanted to outright advertise it through this forum or Wrong Planet in general, how would he go about it?

not sure what you mean by "plug".

the forum rules say you have to contact the site admin, alex, for permission to use the site for advertising. i wouldn't expect a swift response though.

we encourage you to be an active participating member of the site before advertising.... otherwise it's basically spam. :?

what would the book be about if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you, Kiprobalhato.

(1) The advertising would not be "spam." I do not traffic in spam.

(2) Merriam-Webster: (plug, transitive verb) 3: to advertise or publicize insistently.

(3) The book is not about you.

(4) The book is about the onset of psychological inflation in moderators at an online forum when they are given indoor plumbing.
