Im sorry, but i have spent the best part of 40 mins trying to respond to a post, and each time i go through the captcha process it brings me back to the blank new response box!! ! I have tried over 30 times now and its still taking me back, im getting rather frustrated with this! im sorry but this captcha method doesnt work! spam still gets through and it is infuriating for genuine posters! There are plenty of other methods out there to use!! !! ! please change it to a script more suitable for us all!! !!

Have you tried right-clicking the back button and going back to your post?

Better get used to it.

CloudFlare is one of the worst services on the internet, for reasons that I've both rambled about constantly and experienced on EVERY other site I've ever been to that uses it, but the powers that be on THIS site always totally ignore all of the unending complaints. Despite the OVERWHELMING amount of evidence that DerpFlare isnt doing what it's supposed to and is actually causing trouble.

Why, exactly, they keep using WorthlessFlare, I dont know. Frankly, at this point, I dont want to know. It's probably the logical equivalent of dividing by zero.

It's probably not going away.

I myself only tolerate it on this site because I cant find a better autism site that actually has a decent population (believe me, I've tried).

....also because I've found that IdiotFlare's useless captchas can be GLITCHED THROUGH.

I'll give you a piece of advice. When the world's dumbest captcha system takes your post and seemingly annihilates it, it's not ACTUALLY gone, but being held in a sort of limbo of pure stupid. Hit the back button on your browser twice (not super fast). Your post will reappear. Just hit submit again, do yet another dimwitted captcha, and in most cases, it will post after that.

And that's just one way of doing it. There are others that are too hard for me to fully explain (including ways to glitch through it by doing certain things involving giving it the WRONG answer... what kind of security service has this actually WORK on it?). But that one usually suffices.

Good luck!

I've had the exact same problem. Very frustrating after spending a good 5-10 minutes writing something :(

Sometimes that method does not work

I should have been a little clearer, going back always seems to work for myself, but i have now got in the habit of creating a right click copy of the response i was typing up after i have finished writing.. So most of the time i have it saved as a copy... Also to take note cloudflare doesnt like VPN ip addresses, so if you are using a VPN, you might need to disable it on here :)

I voted no. Apparently the first one.

I don't want to go to another captcha. I want to see CloudFlare gone forever.

It's a disease. A pestilence. If you get one variant of rabies, would you be satisified if you had a different variant of rabies? Of course not -- you're still almost sure to die. What you would want is to not have rabies at all.

Well I don't want CloudFlare at all. Get rid of the damned piece of crap.

Thank you for your personal opinion, however your statement carries no proof that other methods are equivalent to a variable in continuous issues, there are many other methods that do work more efficiently, as far as cloudflare goes, even their own CEO cant stand it and is possibly looking at removing it.. As i can only presume this is a wordpress forum, there are a huge amount of methods that can be implemented... and just because one companies script doesnt work properly that certainly isnt true across the entire board! :).... just sayin :)

Are you suggesting that CloudFlare is a name to describe a variety of companies?

I thought it was one company. And changing the captcha won't fix the problem. It will just be a different captcha. The entire process needs to change.

And of course it's opinion. Do you think that your opinions are facts?

No, not at all, its a service, wont go into too much detail of it, but its good in many ways... What i was referring to was your generalization that all methods are the same outcome... What i was trying to explain, is that is not the case... one script may not work or be buggy but that doesnt mean they all are... some are quit good as i have run a number of forums in the past and have implemented a number of security methods, and yes it is trial and error but there are a number that have proved very effective in eradicating spam... Nothing is full proof, but was reiterating that there are some methods that are exponentially better than the methods that are currently implimented

I've seen forums that see far more users and postings than this which have never used a captcha for anything and who get virtually no spam.

Instead of trying to rely on some flawed "prove you're a human" crap, they limit the numbers of new posts. If someone does post spam, they don't last very long at all before they are gone. With fewer posts, the moderators have very little trouble kicking them off and deleting their spams.

As i keep trying to mention, there are other ways other than just captcha... As mentioned there are a number of alternative methods if used in conjunction that doesn't severely intervene with user experiance

I'm the other one who voted no because I'd like to see it gone completely. Most other forums I'm on don't have that, and they don't have the spam problem this does. The reason for that is that they have a mod review posts from new users for a period of time. New users get something saying that their post is awaiting review by a moderator before it's visible. Also, during the period that new users have to have posts approved by a moderator, they're only allowed to reply to current topics, not start new ones. These practices mean that other forums don't have the problem with spambots flooding forums with their crap as they're automatically deleted and banned.
