I'm just wondering. Normally, General Autism Discussion is the most active subform on the site. However, when you scroll down and look at the threads, many threads that had heir last reply yesterday and the day before are still on the first page whereas usually, all the threads on the first page in that sub-forum are active and usually the last reply was from earlier in the day. So, this means that less people are posting on WP than usual, so what's going on?

I'm sure the CAPTCHA isn't helping, because I heard a few members complaining about it while leaving.

1) There are a lot of uninteresting topics drawing little attention. Wait for another major news event; that's when the activity will be focused on just a few threads.

2) I'm not posting as often.

Sometimes peace and quiet is a good thing. Forum has been filled with a lot of white noise lately, everyone talking about the endless shootings and politics.

It should also be mentioned that a large portion of our users are in the northern hemisphere and it's summer here. When it's summer more people are outside and not buried in their computers-- it's a normal thing to see online groups have low participation in summer months.

Yep, it's summertime and school-break time for many, families are going on vacation en masse. Just in Britain alone there are headlines about a tailback of traffic just for the Dover crossing abroad. A lot of people are all suddenly in vacation time all at the same time. That can account for people not being online as much right now. Family stuff, summer stuff.

Aspies? :D

I think it is a combination of forums going out of style, the software for this particular forum, and the same topics repeated over and over. It is not unexpected to see topics repeated over and over on a autistic forum but if you are not interested in those topics it can get boring fast. A lot of the topics and opinions repeated are controversial and cause negative feelings whch cause people to leave or become less active.

I wonder if too many members are too busy playing Pokemon Go.

that's true. although our traffic is actually pretty stable this summer (usually it dips but it hasn't this summer)

Asperger is no longer a hype after its removal from DMS 5.

I believe my absence has nothing to do with this phenomenon, therefore I'm innocent.

WP is not the same as it used to be. Each time I go on to GAD, even after a day, it's the same threads, no new. Sometimes I only visit other WP forums once a week or so, like the sociak skills and making friends one, but even that just has the same threads what don't spark my interest.

And I am sick of hearing about Trump, on the news and current events thread.

I notice that it gets way less active during weekends.

That means that many members don't really lack social life.

Traffic is not less compared to this time last year. We've recently had quite a bit of traffic and a lot of new members signing up
