Please, help me eliminate or stop moving adverts as they are an obstacle to me accessing the site both due to my functioning and because of the computer functioning. It is in effect non consensual.

I don't know anything about the site owners but surely this conflicts with the ethos.

Is there a code I can apply to skip over any moving picture codes to keep the pictures still or exclude those ads (I don't mind which).

I have Windows 98SE, the inevitable Norton, Spy Sweeper (the latter expired), a 40GB main unit but only two Pentiums. Oh and no money.

Hoping for helpful guidance,

Many thanks all.

You can turn off all images from a site.

With firefox browser, you can cut just the
flash ads. But, given what you're difficulty
is, you probably want a full image block.

1. (and you'll hear lots of people say this) Kill IE and download a browser called Firefox. It's much more secure and has loads of plugins to mold it into what you like. It may even work on your 98se machine!

2. After downloading Firefox (did I mention it's free?) check into a program called Adblock (also free). Most ads can be blocked just by clicking on the Adblock links near them.

There are a lot of very good free programs. Check out Avast for a very good anti virus. I use the google search bar for a block on pop up adds. Also use the one with XP, but not an option for you. Double check for any softward add ons to make sure they run with Win98SE. I would highly recommend going to Linex, (free) but I don't know what it needs in terms of computer hardware to run. There is a computer section on the forums and there you will really find the people that know the ins and outs of this stuff.

Ironic that we get loads of flashing and moving ads on an Aspie site where a number of us are sensitive to them.

The escape key kills moving avies,
does it work on the ads? I don't see
them, as FF blocks most out.
