Cancelling Wrong Planet account info?

There should be a way to leave this place. There should be a way to remove one's account information, and I do not see one. It does not say anywhere that once a member, one is stuck always being a member of this place. I think there has to be a way by law to leave a site. I'm not sure about that.

I have not found this addressed anywhere. Would someone please point out where the instructions for canceling Wrong Planet accounts is located? Thanks.

No such luck. You can CHANGE the information in
your profile, so that it is not at all revealing. Sorry.

Where is it shown that once a person has signed up here on Wrong Planet that they can never leave? Show me where it says that in the Terms of Service. That an account is permanent. That HAS to be disclosed.

It says not to use this site if one doesn't agree to the Terms, but we can't leave.

The TOS says WP has rights to use your posts. So you do not have any
absolute right to delete them.

I already asked about those "rights" to use posts.

Although it is not spelled out too well, and the explanation did not come from the site admin, Alex.

There is a section on Privacy. It says to click a link to opt-in or opt-out. the link returns a person to the privacy page. There is no way to opt-out. It's messed up.

If tools are provided on a site, I will use them. If they do not want certain actions to occur, they need to remove the tools.

I don't think most of the people bothered to read the links I posted. There was no reason to continue a dead-end discussion if people choose to go after me and don't read the links provided that might be useful.

I was told in PM that they might have been useful for people who didn't comment. Well, people NEED to comment if they want their voice heard. Otherwise I have no way of knowing or reading minds.

You should still be able to edit or

Yes, I did meltdown. I have panic/anxiety attacks. Childhood abuse. Freaks me out when I can't flee. I feel trapped, held hostage. And then to feel bad for posting stuff that some people weren't all that interested in, and to feel mocked, and to still not be able to flee, it's scary for me.

I still think that not being able to leave has to be disclosed before joining.

I don't think the anxiety medication helps either.

0_equals_true, maybe they have it set up this way because everyone has meltdowns and would all leave. It certainly is better to learn to deal with problems, experience messing up, and then figure out how to fix it. Or do it better next time. How to deal with a problem.

I used to re-read a lot of threads I had posted in on other sites. To see if what someone had said that upset me would STILL upset me when I had been removed from the emotion for a week or a month or a few months. Sometimes the post still did seem like an attack or was hurtful. Other times, I can't figure out what I got so upset about. The words themselves were not that bad, it was how I interpreted them, PLUS how I was feeling that day.

That's true for everyone, I guess. But because I have my own batch of problems, it can mean I have really bad pain days. Physical pain. And yesterday was bad. I had so much trouble walking. And I was having some weird muscle spasms. Not a good reason to get upset with people though. It's not like anyone on this site is responsible for my pain in walking. Or caused the spasms.

What is your avatar picture? A long-legged rodent? Some kind of zippy desert mouse? Does it run on it's back legs? And use them for reaching food? And to look for predators? The little tail would make for cute earrings. I just have to figure out how to lure a pair of those critters onto my head and have them perch on my ears.

It is Lesser Egyptian Jerboa. I think they have long legs because they can regulate their body temperature and also run fast over the sand. They live across Saharan Africa.

I got an error page for the Lesser Jerboa. It's really cute. I would love to see more people put in interesting pictures for their avatar and then put links or names of whatever is in their avatar in their profile. For that "extra info" section.

It doesn't say how big they are. Does say people eat them. I guess I won't be using them to cling to my ears if they are that big.

Dominated, eh? Like that's anything new in this world. We have governments and countries and counties and mounties and police and big bullies. There is no shortage of people and institutions wanting to dominate something, someone, somewhere.

It's kind of funny that I wanted to leave and couldn't. And he wants to stay, and can't. Anyone else find humor in that?

Did this person have redeeming value? I kind of think everyone does. But something must have happened. A disagreement? Misinterpretation?
