I'm sure I'm not the only gay in the village :)

But separate the gay and lesbian please.

Many thanks.

No need for one of those on here.

I believe the love/dating forum is enough for those needs.

I feel like being gay is not acceptable here (yes I know its only 2 comments but for a newbie its still rather off-putting).

Which is strange considering we live with prejudice in our every day lives and we all have something to say about that!

Its only a sub-forum and you don't have to enter it if its not your thing! (if it happens)

We are still human after all.

And I have not said anything about dating but rather a 'room' for gay AS people - we do exsist!

Hey, I am gay as well. I often feel unwelcome in some places because of it, so I can relate to that.
I just don't think a gay forum would be something we should be asking for. And why would you want to separate male and female?

My mistake. Sorry.

I suggested separate rooms because in my experience (which is still quite limited) gay and lesbian like thier own rooms/forums/clubs. It don't mean we don't like each other because we do. We just prefer our own spaces so to speak.

But the same forum will be fine.

Ah right, fair enough. I probably wouldn't go in there then if it was separated into men and women. I think if anything a general gay forum would have been better. One which included transgendered people, bisexuals etc as well. But, even then, it won't happen. I don't think there are enough gay people on here. And some a**holes would start complaining about there not being a straight forum.

Hi there
all of you are gay?
I am straight, I hope I wont be rejected here because of that
I never had any prejudice against gay people, mostly because i know what it feels like to be discriminated, and I also heard gay people are nice people.
Enjoy WP
and I agree that it would be suitable in the Love and Date forum, and I'll try no to get in the way

I have to admit I am mildly homophobic (but only to the point where one would hit on me), but that doesn't mean I don't accept your presence, or that of any other gay member. I respect the rights of gay people as much as any other, as many of my favourite actors (Ian McKellen, Stephen Fry, Mark Gatiss, Graham Chapman) were gay. I am fairly certain that such comments are not allowed. If you can, ignore them. If not, bring it to the attention of the mods by posting in here. If it is within our powers and responsibilities to do so, we will curtail those comments.

Suppose we did make such a forum, hmm? We cannot restrict it's usage (unfortunately) to those of a homosexual orientation. That means that that forum becomes a flame-magnet for the rabid homophobes and the agents provacateurs (otherwise known as trolls). I am certain that you do not want such a forum to go up in flames, so to speak. Sorry. There are many w*kers on this forum who preach antigay messages. Makes you wonder why they don't go join the Rev Fred Phelps.

However, as far as I know, this forum is open to all races, creeds, and sexual orientations. So you shouldn't be made (in theory) to feel unwelcome.

Not to mention that it would become a flame-magnet within a few weeks.... :(

I agree. If there was a gay forum here then I'm sure a lot of aspie17 and psycho thingie's spamming earlier would have been in there. It would just end up attracting too much trouble.

I can see your points but like any prejudice, the minority have always had to fight for thier right to exist, just as an AS is fighting right now.

Any 'minority' wants to be accepted by all and if a person falls into that minority category (AS) then surely they should accept all minorities (in theory).

A non-hetrosexual forum is the suggested forum then! And if it goes well.... sub-forums within the sub-forum :)

Also.... trolls and as*h*l*s are everywhere. If we don't do a thing because we are afraid of them then the world would stop revolving!

I really doubt there would be enough people psoting in it, so I can't see it happening at all but, if you want a GLBT forum or something along those lines, then I would support that, although I think it's unlikely.

My thinking - 11416 members - there must be some non-straight people here.

I only came out gay 3 years ago (my gay friend has AS which is what made me look at being an Aspie as well) and I have found the gay sites/forums to be very helpful to me.

After finding this site... merging being gay and having AS is just too good to be true!

Anyway, we can't get new forums approved except by 'God' (aka Alex, the creator and admin of WP). Problem is, 'God' tends not to reply to anything addressed to him nowadays....

In theory, they should. However, people with AS still have the same prejudices NTs still have. Not only that, but sometimes AS can make expression of said tendencies worse.

Unfortunately, seasparrow, I doubt a LBGT forum will be made. However, keep posting in the other forums, and if you get given major curry by some members, just ask the mods.
