My email inbox is being flooded

Whenever I post in a thread, Wrong Planet assumes that I want to be notified by email about new posts, so I get flooded with all these emails saying "there are new posts in X thread". The thing is, I don't want email notifications, but I don't want to go through and manually unwatch every thread. Is there a way to turn these email notifications off?

Go to My Account > Options > Board Preferences > Edit Posting Defaults

There you should find an option which says "Notify me upon replies by default". Try clicking on the 'No' button.

I remember being swamped by such notifications when I first joined, and I think the above action was what I did.
