Logging in takes me away from the thread I want to post in

I navigate to WP, I see a thread I want to post in, I click "reply," then I'm taken to the login screen.

After I login, I'm taken to the board index instead of the thread I was going to post in.

Can this be fixed?

I would log in before you begin to browse the forums,then you can just respond to a post right away.

Matter of fact I stay logged in on my laptop,so I never have to worry about it.
