Hello, everyone.

As some of you may recall, a few months ago, I posted that my mother broke her arm. Well, after many medical tests, her "broken arm" is actually cancer. I fear that I will not have as much time to be a mod on WP as I previously did, so I am stepping down.

I originally agreed to be a mod because I wanted to give back for all the support WP has given me. As of 2020, I feel I've done that. For all of you who supported me, thanks. For all of you who have been a pain in my butt, thank you for keeping me on my toes.

If someone would like to take over my account and be a mod, please contact the current mod team. As for myself, I'll check in occasionally, and I may create a "civilian account" where I'm just a regular poster.

So, in conclusion, farewell and thanks for all the fish.

Take gentle care.

I am sorry to read about your mum XFG, I remember reading about how much she means to you. If you need support as a regular member, though I know you tend not to, I would be there.

I'll remember the majority, the help, dedication, hours, difficult jobs that literally no one else could do, challenging perceptions, pure grit, resilience and that beautiful Aspie clarity.

You've given more than a fair share to this place, for that always be proud, you made a real difference in people's lives.
Thank you XFG

While I was mostly waiting out the American elections, I was hoping against reason that some (good) changes will happen here and this hope existed mostly because of you.

I'd also like to thank you for your years here, both as a member and a mod, I've always admired your integrity and honesty. It might not seem so from where you're standing, but many of us have seen the difference you made when you could and I wish I've had expressed my appreciation better in the past.

I'm very sorry for what you and your mother are going through and I hope you find some peace.

So sorry about your mom's health challenges and I understand you need time to be with her and be supportive as much as possible. You've had a tough stint and you've handled it well for which I thank you on behalf of the team and membership. I wish you well for the future.

I've had some feedback from someone non-controversial who would be keen to be a mod.

Take care.

I'm sorry that your mom is suffering, and that you have to leave.  You've been one of the best mods here.  Best wishes to you and come back when you can!

My words are inadequate. Many above have expressed it better than I. But I am compelled to say something.

I am so sorry about your mother. Bone cancer can be a treacherous path to have to follow. I will hold you and your mother in the Light. With many years of experience as a hospice nurse; please PM me if you need support or information.

You have been a terrific moderator and a wonderful individual to get to know through your regular posts. You are wise, which is not a term I throw around loosely.

Sorry to hear about your mother's condition.

I haven't had much interaction with the mods, but it sounds you were a good one :)

I am so sorry to hear about your mother, don't even have words to express it. Worst nightmare

Her health and you being by her side for her is all that matters now. I really hope she will prevail.

That said, I'm still really sorry to see you go. You have been the best mod in my time here, and one of the members here I respect the most. If there ever was a mod we can't afford to lose, it's you. Your contribution to WP has been very significant, you have more than paid any debt you feel you have.
I wish there was a hope you'd be back one day after as long a break as needed, when you are in a better circumstance, but I understand this will likely not be the case.

Please take care of yourself and support your mom any way you can.

I am so very sorry, XFG!

Best wishes
