Maybe someone should make a list of banned members and why they were banned?

I ban people for 3 reasons: repeated offensive posts, flooding with spam , using sockpuppets.

Such a list would be counterproductive. Bannings are infrequent and when they do occur, the intent is to impede the spread of spamming, trolling, and drama--not to encourage it. If an individual has seen evidence that the moderators are doing anything less than a stellar job of upholding their duties, I believe the most appropriate course of action would be to contact the site maintainer privately.

Be wary of gossip and its sources.

TM1: it's a relief to know that you don't consider my threads spam!

Gwen: But why did those people feel the need to do those things that got them banned? Because they were so depressed and so lacked attention! They must have been rejected and made fun of all their lives and thought that they wouldn't even fit in in a place like here... that we would be the same way to them, that nobody would bother to PM them or tell them "If you want to talk PM me" or whatever...

How far is an offensive post, and do people get warned before they get banned for that?

Spam by definition is repetitive non-creative pointless content. Alot people are interested in your threads.

I never warn people.

Quantification of Offensiveness = level of TOS violation + number of incidences + odds a person is a sockpuppet of person banned for simular things + percent removed post the user has - percent support they offer - percent autism content the provide

You have a good heart, but harmony depends on the willingness of all involved.

As I understand it, the primary aim of this site is to provide a haven and communication medium for those who are willing and able to follow the guidelines laid out for us. It is the duty of the moderators to help protect this community from those who would abuse it. It's not any of our responsibility to analyze or minister to the psychological needs of the people who, for whatever reason, have chosen to violate the rules.

That's not your concern, Baryon.

Asking the wrong person, Meson.

Who do I ask?
And how can I be a Meson and a Baryon?

You're a hadron, right? That's the term used to describe baryons and mesons. :P

Ah, but one Hadron cannot be simultaneously be a Baryon and a Meson. If I was called Hadrons, then that would be possible of course.

Quantum duality going too far. Or, if you prefer I cop out, a wizard did it.
