Follow these steps to add or change your avatar -
Click on My Account (top right of any screen), then Edit Avatar on the "Options" panel to the left; follow the prompts on the next screen to upload your avatar (which must be a local file).
Hit the "Submit" button on the lower right when done.
Note the maximum avatar dimensions = width: 130 pixels, height: 160 pixels, file size: 3719.87 KiB.
It can be tricky sometimes to edit an image to the right size so if you're stuck, send me a PM with a link to the image you'd like to use and I'll see what can be done with it.
Please note: this is the only functional method - owing to a site misconfiguration an alternate route appears available but the uploaded avatar isn't shown.
