How to change your avatar

Follow these steps to add or change your avatar -

Click on My Account (top right of any screen), then Edit Avatar on the "Options" panel to the left; follow the prompts on the next screen to upload your avatar (which must be a local file).
Hit the "Submit" button on the lower right when done.

Note the maximum avatar dimensions = width: 130 pixels, height: 160 pixels, file size: 3719.87 KiB.
It can be tricky sometimes to edit an image to the right size so if you're stuck, send me a PM with a link to the image you'd like to use and I'll see what can be done with it.

This is the only functional method - owing to a site misconfiguration an alternate route appears available but the uploaded avatar isn't shown.


NOTE: As of late July the "Upload avatar" option is not available, leaving the only options as a link to an image hosting site or an image from WP's underwhelming local gallery.

Please do not use Imgur as an image host, which has unhelpfully decided to address the UK's online safety legislation by displaying "Content not viewable in your region" instead of an image - any image. This is known to also affect at least some regions of Canada, and potentially anywhere else with legislation regarding image content.
