Why The Personal Attacks

Isn't wrongplanet supposed to be a forum where members who have various issues in life can communicate and seek support about their issues and life in general from others that may understand their situation?

If so then why are all these personal attacks happening whenever people disagree with a point someone else made. I just find it disgusting.

I find it that way too... I just want to get rid of all the hatred and anger and pain and coldness!

I haven't noticed many personal attacks. On the whole I've found it to be pretty friendly here.

yes, unfortunately Zach, any mention of religion or things of a spiritual nature attracts a the resident bully gang of uh, science believers I guess you'd call them, who almost always use personal attacks. It's hard for the mods to do anything about it as some of the 'trolls' want to get banned (it's like a badge of honour at some other websites) and in any case they just rejoin under a new name and it all starts again, sigh..

you get to recognise their names and i just don't read their posts. they tend to go around in a pack. don't let it put you off the site though.

I'm starting to realize that. I just hope the high they get of causing people termoil is worth it.

So you responded in kind? Now I don't have a lot of faith really, but isn't that not exactly the Christian thing to do?

Not everyone will take kindly to religion being injected into a conversation. I can appreciate how this could be aggravating to someone that simply wants to give their input, when their faith is an integral part of their life, but that's just something that must be dealt with. Neither side is wrong in their desire, but neither is entirely right either.

shadexii is another of the anti-christians you'll encounter in religious discussions here.

What is wrong is going around calling people idiots, morons etc because of their beliefs. I don't believe in Wicca, Buddhism, Athiesm or other things. Why can't we all just grow up and agree to disagree.

Not disagreeing, and this is why I avoid PP&R if I can help it.

Can't say that I know. Don't think it is really in human nature for that. Not to mention that, at least in terms of beliefs, quite often one's beliefs are taken to be fact, so when people start arguing over facts, things can get ugly.

I think you're just bad at veiling your true intentions.

That's ok, if anything you appear to be anti-"anti-Christian," with anti-Christian being defined however you like. I'm not saying that in jest, I mean it quite seriously.
