I feel like I'm going insane here . . .

I was in the middle of a pm conversation with somebody and I was writing a response when the site started to get all crazy, then when I tried to send I started getting error messages, but one of them said something like that user doesn't exist . . .

So eventually when the site started working for me again, I can't find a single trace of evidence that suggests who I was talking to exists or not.

I searched through the users in alphabetical order and can't find a similar name.

I can't find any of her posts, and in one thread where I specifically remember a post from her, its not there anymore.

My inbox no longer has any messages from her, but when I click on "My Account", the number of private messages it says I have suggests that the messages should still be in there, but they are not. Right now, the number of messages it says I have is the only thing keeping me from believing this person never existed.

I am just totally freaked out now. I know I have some slight schizophrenic tendencies, but now I am questioning if any of this ever happened or if its just in my head!

So is it possible for someone to up and vanish from this site like a fart in the wind, or have I lost my mind?

Shouldn't be possible. Even after being banned, the username normally remains in a userlist.

I also just noticed RedMageIngus is gone.
I saw somebody responded to something she said but she never said it, so I went to look for some of her posts and can't find a damn thing.
I hope its not just me who can't see them, and if its not, then I hope I'm not next!

It is possible to delete users. I don't know if that deletes their posts as well. Only Alex is authorized to use that feature. He has not informed me of any such action.

Other possibilities also exist. The site has had problems, and Alex has been tinkering and tweaking. Allow me to apologize on his behalf for any inconvenience his efforts may cause.

Depending on the queries it's entirely possible that records that were removed from one recordset cause these queries to 'drop' results that depend on the existence of these, now missing, records. Someone with access to the (MySQL?) database backend should be able to verify.

I've asked Anubis to get a hold of her and explain the situation.
