I think it be cool if we have karma here. Is that possible to have a karma system here? I think it be fun to have.

I think it would be lame.

But I love you anyhow. Here is a picture of Spokane that I took for you, back in July.

Karma! Karma! Karma!...

(to the rhythm and tone of Toga! Toga! Toga!--from Animal House, one of my favorite movies)

It's such a big site, I'm not sure it would
be useful. And, if it's anything like other
AS sites with karma, it tends to become
a way of showing displeasure as often
as pleasure - something which might
bother some.

Karma would become more of a populatrity issue on a site like this.

Karma on Wrongplanet is a bad idea, I am definitely against this, it comes to be a popularity thing in the end, a few people here would feel socially isolated and the feeling of rejection somehow because of this. And there must be plenty of other reasons why not to.

That works for other sites, but for this one, it won't.

It usually works BEST on sites where
people are sharing things (like files)
or giving clearly testable advice.

No. It's a bit pointless.

Are you talking about some sort of rating system?

You could have Boy George sing Karma Chameleon duet with Ragtime.

Agreed. There's no point to it here. Some wouldn't take it seriously at all, while others would take it too seriously. Without any consistency there, it is little more than a number. If you like someone else's post, is saying so in a post of your own that big of a hassle?

I have no problem with it, as long as it is opt-in, rather than opt-out.
