When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

well then... looks like we both have two different views... the mods are in favor of it staying there... the mods make the final judgement... hence the final verdict is it stays...

We hadn't been doing it for a while. I am not sure what we will do about it. I asked the other mods what they think. I'm seeing benefits to both ways.

i think its nice having a permanent record of the complaints..

or maybe splitting posts off into their own discussions... like this one got split...

Yeah, I don't know who split it for sure.

One idea that occurred to me is to have two threads for this purpose.... the original thread where new complaints are reported... then maybe as the complaints are addressed they (and their side-discussions) can all be moved to the second thread, which would be record, as you suggested. I like having some sort of record of what was done so that the person making the complaint knows he was heard and so that others can observe how different issues are generally approached.

i think the splitting idea would be pretty tedious and also we would wind up with hundreds of mod complaint threds :eew:

i think the dual thread approach would work best!

It seems most organized, that's for sure. I am not a programmer though, so I don't know if thread splitting perhaps takes up a lot of resources? Using this idea, thread splitting would happen much more frequently. (Strapples, we'd have to "split" the reply off and splice it to the second thread)

Any other mods/admins around? What are your thoughts?

you have to split the replies and then move them... cant directly move them...

splitting does not take much system resources, just causes the DB to resync... i think....

Hey, I talked to Lau about it. I think we've decided just to let the help requests remain in the original thread, rather than creating two threads.
