As a newbie, I can tell you that the rules definitely need to be posted more prominently. The only reason I know they even exist is that I happened to see them mentioned in a post. I saw that after I had already made my first post. Reading the rules should be made part of the enrollment process (e.g., have a section that has you read them and then click an "accept" button before being allowed to continue). Also, some sort of guide to the website and setting up one's profile would be greatly appreciated. The folks who run this site should remember that most of us are socially challenged and therefore might not be familiar with social networking sites and forums.

Hi Triangular Trees, I might be a little pedantic about where I first look on a forum I am new too, the first thread topic at the top, so I might of had an unfair advantage, in general people automatically go to the thread topic that first peeks their interest. The rules should be a little easier to find, but its up to the site owner to do that, I believe that the forum rules are basically the same as most other forums on the internet.

This is the only forum I've ever been where it is acceptable to have threads on questions such as Do Boobs have cheese inside of them? and Have you ever been a prostitute but its a warnable offense to start a discussion of urinary tract infections or to ask if your diarrhea is frequent enough to warrant going to the hospital - I'd also post a link to that thread but it was deleted because discussion of excretory function is banned.

If anything the first two topics I mentioned should be what results in a warning and thread deletion for, not the last 2 topics. And its mentioned before it is extremely offensive and condescending to the person receiving the warning for writing about UTI when the 2 other topic starters were allowed to post their threads and the rules are hidden so there is no way the UTI person could have possibly had any reason to think her topic would not be allowed.

Thats like having a forum on colors, and people are posting about red, yellow, amaranth, elephants, tigers, and azure so you naturally think its okay to post about green. But as soon as you do you are given a warning because no discussion of the color green is allowed, even though you have never come across any rule that says such - it doesn't make much sense does it?

At first I thought a few of those "adult" jokes were a little funny but after finding about one too many of the same kind of jokes crowding the forum, they just come off downright annoying like spam thus making it hard for me to know if the OP is serious or not in their "shocking" discussions. Sort of like the boy who cried out wolf wolf.

That was one of the most idiotic threads I have seen on here, its what makes coming to WP
hard to stomach. And its not setting a good example to people outside the community,
there has to be some limits on these moronic thread topics, or its just going to be an
invite to every pervert and sexual deviant on the web, this is not mature or intelligent talk.

I think you have a really good point. The first 2 topics mentioned seem harmless to me as long as they're in the Adult Forum, but it does seem counter-productive to delete the second two threads (UTI's, diarrhea). I realize such topics could be offensive to some members, so I have an idea:

Why not allow discussion of bodily functions in the Health forum as long as the topic pertains to a health issue and appears to be serious?

More ideas:

Why not post the rules as a sticky in the Getting to Know Each Other Forum? That is where people generally write one of their first posts, after all. Or put the rules on the main page - create an article called "Things to Know Before Joining This Site" or something.
