Why I dislike the term "Wrong Planet"

Using the term "Wrong Planet" implies that Earth is the wrong planet for autistics to live in.
In fact, the purpose of autistic self-advocacy efforts is to turn Earth into the *right* planet for autistics to live in!
Therefore, I prefer this website becomes "Autistics' Planet", or "Autistics' Hangout", or "Autistics' Hub", or "Autistics' Club", or "Autistic's Celebration" or something similar...

^I think Wrong Planet sounds better than the names you suggests because Wrong Planet is a very catchy name versus what you said anyway to be honest.

I agree with KenG. I mean honestly, autistic people always feel like outcasts anyway, why make it worse with a title such as "Wrong Planet"?

Ken's names are good ones which is great to know. There are factors to consider when naming sites as well. My guess Alex and Dan like the name and no one really disliked the name for no apparent reasons. The name Wrong Planet to me doesn't sound bad to me at all because sometimes you feel like you are on the Wrong Planet when in social situations and stuff.

Sounds like "Ass Pots". I once had a sneaky name idea when I first joined: AutismAnswers (as in answering back to AutismSpeaks), but Alex has his reasons for naming his site.

I agree that literally, it looks as though it is Autistics who are on the wrong planet and are made to feel unwelcome, but this site is a Haven for many of us who need to go somewhere to feel more at home where we can communicate in a way that makes us feel comfortable.

I have always said I was from another planet, long before I ever heard of Asperger's. When I first stumbled onto wrongplanet I thought...how appropriate of a name.

when I was a child, I pretended I was a Space Child. It was my fancy to sit and be known I was from a different place and happened to be stranded here in a human body. The moment I saw this site's name in Wikipedia I knew I was home.

(I also played at being a Changeling, or even a silky but that was scary. even growing up in the middle of the North American continent, I longed for the sea, because the high plains were oppressive and gave me claustrophobia. Later I learned I had sensitive mountain(altitude) sickness, and the pressure is less on my ears at sea level.)

It would be kind of pointless to change the name now. And besides, thatsd not why it's called wrongplanet. It's called wrongplanet because most of us, all our lives have felt like we are on the wrong planet. not because this *is* the wrong planet for us.
