Site abnormalities lately

Is it just my DSl connection or has the site been rather strange the last few days with logging me off for no reason and being so slow as to make even looking at the posts almost impossible. Surely increased traffic can't account for this sudden change.

The site has been very laggy as of late, I have also noticed more then normal people online over 600, but posting has been slow.
I don't know if thats anything to do with people on the chat page or what, but having the WP busy page pop up can be annoying.

WP can get very bogged down by heavy traffic, especially at certain times of the day.

yes, use this code everytime want to quote someone in one post:
