I'm interested to see what people have chosen as their 6th form options. Although I'm still in Year 11, I have already chosen my options and would be interested to see how my subjects compare to others'.

The topics I'm doing next year:

AS Mathematics
AS Physics
AS Chemistry
AS Geography
(and possibly AS Further Maths)

For those of us who are American, what do you mean by A-levels and AS? Are they advanced programs?

Here in the US, we have something called the Advanced Placement (AP) program. In the AP program, high school students can take AP courses, which are more strenuous than normal courses. At the end of the course, you have the option of taking that course's AP exam. If you do well on the AP exam, some colleges will give you credit for them, so you don't have to take those courses in college.

I've personally taken AP World History, and am currently taking AP Calculus, AP US History, and AP English.

AS and A-Levels are Advanced qualifications, and they count as General Certificates of Education (GCE) and they come after GCSEs (General certificate of secondary education). AS Levels are one year courses that can be dropped at the end, and A2 levels are the full two year courses. This is the step before university. Most universities ask for 3 A-Levels.

I was thinking of doing French at one point, I'm interested to know how difficult it is. What is also covered in Biology and Psychology?

French is not that hard

In psychology, so far we've done memory and the development of attachments

In biology, we've done bonds, biological molecules, digestion and cellular structures

By chance, have you looked at transportation through the cytoplasm of a cell? (I saw an A-level Biology classroom with that on the board).

Biology does seem interesting and fascinating, but I'm not going to do it because apparently it is very 'waffly' and there are a lot of facts to learn. I'm also better at physics and chemistry.

The phospholipid bilayers are fascinating. Make sure you don't burn up - I did all Science and Maths, and frankly couldn't cope. The teaching didn't help, but I was as much to blame.
I ended up doing an extra year at the start of Uni.

I'm in the US, so I've got AP courses.

Biology
Chemistry
Physics C (two tests for this, one for Mechanics and the other for Electricity and Magnetism)
Calculus BC
US History
World History
European History
Psychology
Statistics
US Government
English Literature
Economics (both Micro and Macro)

As you can probably see, I suffer from chronic sleep deprivation in the hopes of getting tons of college credit and possibly finishing my degree in three years instead of the usual four.

I am in lower sixth (Year 12) at the moment, doing Biology, Chemistry, French and Maths AS levels. I was also doing Further Maths AS but I dropped it after one lesson because of the amount of extra work I would have to have done. French is not that hard unless you have a terrible memory.
