I am deciding that since I don't have a great GPA and not a lot of experience in my current major of meteorology that I should take my intended minor into a major. My school's meteorology program wasn't what I expected it to be (more content than math calculations) and I seem to be the only one in my class interested in data analysis. I seem to be very fortunate to have parents that are well off to help me. I guess the only downside is that I have to take another year (this would make 7 years for me).

Your college must be strict on class prerequisites if it has already taken you 6 years to go for a Bachelor's! My opinion is that whatever you decide should be your major is should be something you are able to do and at least partially enjoy, as well as use to make money in the real world. You didn't mention what your minor was.

I have had to withdraw 2 semesters due to depression and enlarged lymph nodes which turned out to be a fungal infection. I had to make up some courses a whole year later due to the classes only being available once a year. I do enjoy the current statistics classes more than meteorology ones I have taken this past year, but I only have to take one more course to have a BS in meteorology. Oh yeah, and my minor is statistics as well until I opt for a double major. I think it seems like a good decision as there are much more career opportunities in statistics even though they might not be what job I want.
