Creationist Physics Prof
I really think people make a bunch of unnecessary foolishness about this matter. I believe in both because I really don't see how they're mutually exclusive. Besides, there are plenty of other things in the Torah, Quran, Bible, etc. that people ignore every day because of ridiculous amounts of evidence to the contrary. You should ask your prof if he also believes that the earth is flat, and that the sky is actually another great ocean separated from our world by the arc of the heavens.
Yep. I'm not really sure where he was going with the speed of light thing - he only talked about that for a minute, but when I got home I googled it and it seems to be a common creationist argument for how the light from distant stars reaches us:

Yeah, that's what I figured. Because astrophysicists have such sophisticated technology nowadays to determine where in the galaxy light almost as old as the Big Bang is located. So, I guess slowing down the speed of light makes it harder for the light to be "so old" or something. I think the most frustrating thing for me would be the fact that the professor is not linking any of this discussion to Newtonian mechanics and what you're supposed to be learning. I could even see if he were teaching modern physics and quantum and relativity and the like, but classic mechanics has absolutely no link to Creationism. The governing principles of Newton and others were first described back in an era where science was still controlled by the church! My advice is to just keep teaching yourself from the textbook. You still should complain about this professor, but in the meantime, use the book as the professor.

I gotta second (third, fourth, whatever) complaining in this case. Maybe they need a certain NUMBER of students to complain, or else nobody did because they assumed someone had already (Kitty Genovese murder, anyone?) This professor is NOT even discussing any factual physics at all. Even from a slacker standpoint, if we've gotta do homework and study for tests and stuff, it should be based on ACTUAL INFORMATION.
