Did say that my school was for "gifted children" on the internet. It was fantastic. Much better than my 1st and 2nd primary schools, which were boring beyond imagination.

Gifted school? My podunk town has never heard of one o' them fancy thingins before. But seriously, there were none around. My elementary school didn't even have seperate anything for the smart kids (there were at least 4 others in my grade that were in my high IQ bracket). They never even put me in TAG (my guess is my diagnosis, since you know, autistic kids can't be gifted *sarcasm*).

I was in the gifted program at school in 3rd and 4th grade (I finally got my mom to let me quit after 2 years) I hated it because it was just an extra class twice (or three times? I don't remember) a week in which I was taken out of my normal class, which just resulted in more homework (work for the gifted class plus I had to make up whatever I missed from the regular class). Basically, I was being punished with extra work because they thought I was super intelligent... :x
Plus, I never felt like I even fit in with the other "gifted" kids anyway, so it was pointless.

People still think I'm too smart and expect too much of me. I might be smart, but I'm lazy and I just don't feel like doing anything... lol

I went to your regular ghetto schools. Some kids I knew who lived in NYC rather than the burbs went to this gifted high school called Stuyvesant, which was really not the best place, especially after getting ashed over by 9/11. I'm glad I went to ghetto schools because they taught me to fend for myself.

I'm glad I didn't because I would have had a much worse mental breakdown than I did. Probably would have killed myself and everyone around me.

I've always wanted to go to a gifted school, but tuition costs prevented me from going. My parents couldn't justify $10,000 per year at a private (gifted) school, and the nearest one is located three hours away from my hometown.

I go to a gifted CLASS, but not a school. Frankly, that's all this place has to offer.

The other 4 school days of each week are hell, though.

We don't really have any special provision for 'gifted' pupils here. Educational selection is usually determined by a pupil's parents' ability to pay, not their academic ability.

The secondary school I attended didn't even run accelerated classes, although there were more intensive French and German classes for able pupils who wished to study a second foreign language.
