What must you do to teach them a lesson, without being rude?

Yep it is even worse when you have a Japanisse roommate (note I am not saying all Japanisse people are this way) who doesn't get that around 1 or 2 is time to sleep and will be playing card games on his computer at around 4:30 AM (I seriously don't get when he sleeps!) and you need absolute (or close to) silence to sleep. Doesn't help that most days the dorm doesn't get quite until around 2 or 3, was worse last year when I had 8 AM class, luckily first class this year is at 10 and thats just 3 of the days.

I was lucky as undergrad, because I was living with my grandparents. Well, I was pretty detached from dorms in the campus, but I had as much privacy as I needed and that was great. After I entered grad school abroad for the first time, I had to live in the crappy dorms. Well, it wasn't so bad. I shared bathroom only with three other students.

Now, I'm living alone in a single flat in the center of Munich and I enjoy total privacy. OK, at the beginning it was pretty tough, because I had to arrange shopping, cooking and laundry by myself, but I got used to it. I don't want to live in dorms. Never more.

That was one of the best things about being in Korea, private bathroom and after a month or so private bedroom... bliss.

I'm thinking of living in a dorm for next year, would do the married students thing. I don't suppose anybody here has any experience to share about married student housing?

Sorry, I don't live in the married housing section, but I do know that the university that I attend is probably one of the few schools that provides this service.

When I saw the topic, my first instinct was to post "no sh-t sherlock."

I remember an experience in my dorm a couple weeks back.

I like my dorm. It is nice and comfortable, and my roommate isn't bad at all. Well, actually, I'm best buds with the guy.
