My mom was a teacher for 20 years before taking an early retirement back in 2019.

When word got out, faculty, parents, and kids begged her to stay.

She was tired of the increase in parental leniency and not much being done about bullying in schools, so IMO taking an early retirement was her way giving a "middle finger" to all of it.

Whenever she crosses paths with some old students of hers who try to make conversation with her, she ignores them completely. She has said that parental leniency has caused adolescents to be more rude in comparison to (in her opinion) the 1990s or 2000s.
