...It's good that your father can fix his car, Ezra, but not everyone - even with a car - can do that. They may not have the skills, they may not have had someone to show them, they may not have space and tools.needed to do it or the time to.

...Ezra, I am not too sure they didn't mean it literally - thumping their chests about " I did it ALL ALONE! " when they in fact had a a office of people who would help them behind them and a " correct " status as an HS student.
Furthermore, I HAVE! been pissed upon when I tried to apply in the " normal ", " alone " way! My records DO appear to be in a weird state! Saying " Ah, c'mon, you can do it " is meaningless - Based on previous experience, still another attempt to get in cold, with nothing but a manual or looking something up on the web will just result in.one more " Sorry, we didn't get your records. " told to me . You need help tying your shoes, even though there's presumably some manual or thing on the Internet about how to tie your shoes - Well, with all my previous sad experience s, I would need much help, in knowing that my records would be sent. and that there wouldn't be a repeat of what happened before . If you want to act superior and say " You want someone to do it for you ", well, that"s what you want to call it. I've said I no longer think I"all get help here. I don't know why I might care so much about impressing people here. But I guess I do . If I can just get down here what happened in my 2985-1996 college attempts - which were " all alone ", incidentally!

...Ezra, I spent years of my life 100% unable to tie shoes myself, so we're similar. Only in my 20s did I develop the ability to tie the most generic, simple, basic knot - and that"s still how it is. and I wear shoes that are kinda slip-on. or buckles) straps. Obviously. SHAME on both of us ! !! !! !??? After all, there is probably something on the Internet on how to tie shoes - Perhaps even a YouTube video! - so, if we can't t tie shoes, we're useless eaters, it's off to the gas chambers for us . Obviously, with the Internet and YT, nobody has the excuse of not knowing everything about absolutely everything anymore! You can just look it up!! !! !! !! ! Right? Right!
Regarding car-fixing, I might argue that, oooooh, like a TV situation comedy or a comic strip, a man might be married to a woman who says " Oh no you don't fix the car here, buster! You're not tracking dirty feet and coming into my house in dirty clothes and washing your dirty hands in my sink! And you're not making a mess in the back yard either..." BUT, obviously, there must be something on the Internet that tells you how to deal with THAT! So never mind that. Unless the #MeToo movement says otherwise, we must all do what they say .

As for looking up older people trying to go to uni, or just applying, these articles all assume that you have a HS alma mater situation where they will competently and immediately send your complete records in response to your would-be admitted-to places' request. This is not the case with me . I have found that out, I guess, more than once . And that is why I would need help in applying. I don't think there's any YouTube videos that tell you how to deal with that .

.....Ezra, my problem has not been filling out the application form. The problem has been getting my complete records sent to wherever i am applying! When I have applied, the " helpful, efficient " people in charge of my HS records have not followed through on sending a full record that would let my application be processed. That is why I wanted complete copies of my HS records - I had thought that at least I could send them in. You eon't be allowed to go to any college without them - Though I'm less oriented towards that now.
Did I not make this sufficiently clear? There's no YouTube video that's going to tell you " How to get the HS records people to respond to your application in the correct manner " .

What it means is that there is a ton of help advice and instructions available to someone asking "how do I find out how to do this?". If all that ton of available info isn't going to do any good, then it's not going to get done because it is undoable.
