I agree. I used to not believe in facebook. I thought it was a waste of time and a stupid popularity contest. But now I realize it's great for keeping in touch w/ old friends. Plus it's fun to set up your page...And I've even talked to a couple people from my high school who I never really met back then, and now we're actually true friends. I still don't buy into the idea of having 300 "friends" on there, most of whom you don't care about, but to meet some new people or keep in touch with old friends, yeah, it's cool.

I agree with you as well on my post. :)

Facebook really only has one significant use- To check up and see what other people are doing. Assuming that their Facebook profile is at least 75% true so they are doing what it says they are doing.

Thats why I have a lot of people on my list; like 200-300.

Well I have 277 friends and most of them I know in person.

I have absolutely no idea why I joined facebook, but it turns out I have 32 friends which is kind of strange.

My friend Patrick mentioned to me back in my summer before I started my freshman year at George Mason University. Weird how people and friends mention things to you and you end up checking out sometimes.

Facebook is a big fad right now. In a couple years it will be replaced by something else.

My goal for some time was to reach John 3:16 friends (i.e. 316 friends) and I reached it recently. Now I have 318. I'll not try to add anymore (unless I find some more people I know real well that haven't been seen there before) and will accept anyone who adds me.

If I had a greatest fear, it's the fear of losing friends and being betrayed/rejected by anyone whom I thought were my friends. (If I'm rejected by someone I've not seen before, I guess that's different.) But, about the first fear- that's why I have a "Friends Tracker" that will not only keep a log of the friends I gain, but also of the friends I lose. If I see that I have one less friend on my friends list, I won't have to sift through the entire list anymore to figure out who I lost. The Friends Tracker will tell me instantly (or as soon as I log on.)

Edit: I may have more than the most (or all?) of you, but I have tried pretty darn hard to fit in and/or be accepted by many.

I had one for about 3 months but I would spend like (total) two hours a day on it (and I wasn't supposed to have one) so I deleted it because I felt bad having one when I wasn't supposed to.

I am only on MySpace, and don't really have enough time to be on another such group.

Though I'm also on Myspace, it seems the two are different due to the abillity to customized your profile. Either way, it is still socializing with people.

That is something that a kid would do not to mention an invasion of privacy as well.

I find Facebook is a one of those things to help to calm down when you are frustrated at homework or something.
Ironic, no?
