Does anybody have trouble listening in lectures..in classes that they find boring, but are required to take? Trouble getting homework started and completing readings? I am doing my B.A now, but I have quit and come back to it a few times. When I am really interested in a class I do pretty well...I get A's, but when I am not I find it sooo hard to stay motivated. I know these issues aren't insurmountable and I know they are related to A.S ...but knowing that intellectually does not making it any easier. have an I.Q of 132, and I'm 24 and have only completed a year worth of credits. I really want to finish my B.A , but feel like shutting down and quitting again. I have quit school three times already.

Anybody else have these problems? Any suggestions?

Sorry for any bad grammar or incoherence...I am extremely sleep deprived right now?

I have had this problem also.

Some reccomendations... examine exactly WHY you want to finish the course. List it down, or create a picture of the end product or other such things. Then when you go to a "boring" class just fill yourself up with that motivation before commencing any activities for it.

I.E. before you walking into "history of 15th century philosophy" remind yourself WHY you want your degree, and what it will mean to finish the unit etc... then proceed to pay attention.

If that doesn't do it, perhaps a rexamining of your motivations. Pick some new motivational ideas etc... For instance if "you'll end up with a good job" is your current motivation, and it isn't working... pick "I'll get a good job, and be able to do a career I enjoy"
