Hmm, if you have unlimited money and time, what will be the college/university that you will go to for further studies? Just curious. (By the way I am a high school senior/Year 12 who intends to go to a public university near his home, as he wishes to graduate debt-free in an attempt to be more financially free)

For me, I would like to go to Penn State for a Bachelor's degree in Geography if I have unlimited money, then I will hope to further my studies at Michigan(University of Michigan Ann Arbor) for my MUP (Master's in Urban Planning, hoping to specialize in Housing, Community, and Economic Development )... Then for PhD, maybe I will go to University of Southern California...

But yeah, for the time being, I guess NUS (National University of Singapore) may just do for me now. Sigh...

Are you referring to Penn State Main Campus in PA, US? (I am assuming so) Local is definitely cheaper & I am not familiar with international college costs at all :?. But if you are looking near Penn State in the US try looking up KU (prices are not that bad from what I know & I just graduated so I've looked up descent/very nice colleges at good prices :)). Go wherever you can/want to & have fun. Good luck!

If I had unlimited money and I wanted a degree in history then I'd go to Cambridge university. I don't have unlimited money though so when I'm older I'll go to a university in my city. Which isn't that bad because there are some very good ones here.

KU? Well I may consider there too, considering that it offers geography as a major, and it is so much smaller than Penn State (Main Campus).

My school had organised a study trip to Cambridge. I didn't go there, but from what I know, my classmates said that they prefer a more relaxed lifestyle in university so they will not bother to study there... I am also quite laid-back... so Cambridge is not for me! Yeah.

Well I know someone who went there and so I have an idea about it. I would prefer a slightly stricter setting when I eventually go to a university but that's just me.

Hmm indeed. If I had it to do all over again and if I had unlimited money to go to college, I'm thinking of somewhere with a beach and bikinis. Maybe a Med school in Jamaica or I'd study Competitive Basket Weaving at the University of Hawaii and party all day.

I would stick with Mason. I would not mind earning Master's from the Naval War College (Yes Civilians can go there, my dad did back in the 80's). Or UVA and maybe GW but I love Mason so I will do my Master's there 8).

For geography majors, Texas State University-San Marcos is very well known.

That's where I am currently attending, although I am considering Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania for my Master's degree.

I'd really like to do my Ph.D outside the U.S... My dream schools would be Queens University in Belfast, or McGill or Lakehead in Canada.

I actually got accepted at McGill for undergrad, but I knew I wasn't "academically inclined" enough at that point to be successful at a school as rigorous as that, so I didn't go. I don't regret passing it up at all really, but I would love to do my Ph.D there.

My "dream schools" for doing a Ph.D in the U.S. would be my alma mater the University of Washington, or University of Wisconsin-Madison.

After reading back thru my post and contemplating, I'd say my #1 dream school (for reasons I struggle to explain) is Lakehead U.

It's named after the town the university is located in. It's about 50 miles northwest of Pittsburgh and 50 miles east of Youngstown, Ohio.

Those sound like good places. I will warn you, however, that Hawaii is very, very expensive.

I would go to Cambridge University, too. But I flunked out of my local university.
