i am a year eleven student living in the uk, getting good enough grades in all my subjects except for resistant materials. in resistant materials i cant understand the theory, cant do the practical, and every second i spend in that lesson is a second of my life that makes me hate everything. is it possible to drop this gcse as i cant do the subject. in any way. and i hate the subject.

I didn't know 'resistant materials' was a subject...

As far as the government is concerned, you can drop a GCSE any time you like, but your school may have different ideas.

You would be best talking to your school careers officer or form teacher; they will know whether you can just drop this subject, or if you will have to replace it with another.

I dropped DT half way through year 10 and also PE although that wasn't a GCSE.
