I have a bit of a week ahead. I have two tests, an internship interview, a book to read, and a blog to write for by Thursday. I am use to weeks like this. What I am not use to is the sense of anxiety I have now. I take Effexor XR to control panic attacks, and am cutting down with my doctor's supervision. I think I am feeling the effects now.

What worries me the most is that I worry about my work more than I do it, knowing full well I can accomplish everything quickly. I sound like I'm busy, but I enjoy doing all the above. Yet I am starting to spend time in my room, starring at the ceiling and fearing the future, even though I know I can handle everything. That worries me.

So am I too busy, or do I just need to up my medication again?

You sound seriously busy. Medicine probably isn't going to help- if anything, it will just slow you down. I think sometimes we all need a bit of stress so we can get things like this done.

Start with what you can get out of the way quickly- I'd recommend reading the book - then revise for your exams, which are worth the most.

The night before the interview, have a look over your CV and practice answering a few questions in front of the mirror ("why do you want to do XYZ... what will you bring to XYZ" etc...). At the end of the day, even if you don't get the job, it's not like you can never get another one, so your focus should really be on passing the tests.

Unless it directly relates to your job, I'd forget the blog for the moment.

I mean, those are valid concerns. What really worries me is the anxiety portion, though. You see, I am plowing through some of my work now, and feel fine. It's just when I stand still that it really eats at me.

Surely that's kind of a good thing? You can't afford to stand still at the moment :). I'm actually a bit jealous- I'm supposed to be studying right now too, but I need the anxiety to kick start me and it hasn't materialised yet...

Well, folks, I got through that week, and had a lovely weekend with my mother. This week isn't quite as grueling, but I have three papers to write and a weekend seminar for Microsoft Excel certification. Come summer, I will be a shuddering, anxiety-driven train-wreck.
