I'm currently in THEATRE, a great class, where we're mainly working with our hands, measuring things, and talking with others
You see the problem?
i've managed to mantain an A+ as my grade in the class, but today I managed to P.O. (is that how you say it?) one rather successful classmate of mine. One who referred to me, much like my teacher, as more of a dog trying to do modeling and such rather than a human being. Of course, that could just be me, but it seemed like other people kept being called over to do my job for me. Anyway,
(The following may or may not be a complete or unbiased representation of the argument)
I pointed out, in a passive, what-can-you-do voice, that I was getting annoyed that I was basically being treated like a dog.
She told me to get over it and life isn't fair, and would I like it if she talked to me that way instead.
Under the general idea that it is better to be treated as an inferior human than a noble hound, I said yes.
(the memory fades here. Unspecified time may or may not have passed)
I pointed out that I had an A+ in the class, in retaliation (see also: misunderstood conversation, small talk) to something she had said.
She told me that I still had to participate because it was the show and that it was my responsibility.
I asked her why she was helping me, then. (and I use the word "helping" very loosely, as she had only managed to ignore my mathematical advice on how to cut out tape and was merely wasting resources due to the former)
She said that the teacher had made her come help.
I said "Exactly!" Whether or not what she said proved my argument is still up for debate.
She then got up, loudly announced over me that if I was going to be so rude or so sarcastic or something like htat she was going to leave, took the trash, and left.
I thanked her for taking out the trash.

What happened?
From my point of view, I spoke simple truths and small talk in a plain voice and somehow hate spat up at me.
From her point of view, I placed a plague on her house and yelled curse words at her in an extremely loud voice.
What got lost in translation?
Also- as a sidenote on something I would passionately argue on- Is it possible to create a fully-stocked and continuously working gas-station in space? Would it actually be useful?

I think the way NTs tend to do a task is to jump in and start doing things, even if they don't fully make sense, but also lightly paying attention to the reaction of others.

Whereas we Aspies tend to plan things in advance (and this can be misperceived as not knowing what to do or not wanting to help).

Both approaches are strengths depending on the circumstances.

I don't see how you're being rude or sarcastic for pointing out the fact that she's being treated like a dog by the teacher herself. It it were me I would have laughed. From experience, I've learned that many people (especially NT girls) don't like being corrected on certain things that are logical...they take it as offense (not being sexist, I'm a girl too). The fact that you plan your actions out instead of jumping right in [and being wasteful due to lack of thought] probably made it look to the teacher and others that you needed help when you most likely did not.

about your sidenote: don't they already have something similar in space? like a place to refuel on a space station or something? If not, I reckon it could work. I have no idea if the space atmosphere would react with the gas though...if that's even something to be considered.
