Who here hates labs?

I hate labs. I'm not good at organising myself effeciently while doing the procedures. Its worst with a lab partner because you don't know who's gonna do what. Today during a lab I made some procedural mistakes and I said "sorry" and my lab partner was like "its ok". I feel like an embarrassment to my lab partner.

You worry to much, your lab partner wasn't upset by a little mistake

If anything I hated how in first year people didn't take it seriously ENOUGH.

I hate how they don't let us drink water in the science lab. It's fair enough during practical work, I guess, but we rarely do practical work, and it seems stupid to stop us having a sip of water when all we're doing is writing.

I bring drinks anyway, even in chemistry. There were times when I needed to take medicine and I was going to have a drink. I think we actually had to write that in my disability services stuff, that I was going to have a drink at all times...it's ridiculous

I hate how people try to finish as fast as possible when sometimes I actually need to understand what we're doing. I don't mind being in a group, but they never said who was doing what and it appeared like I was doing nothing most of the time. In chemistry I usually got stuck doing the math bits while they mixed chemicals and stuff. Biology lab really wasn't so bad. I think I'll be taking a lot more labs, so I guess I better get used to them.

I was never the most fond of doing labs, though there were a few that were pretty fun (like the one involving burning a sample in a plasma torch that made the sun look like a candle to determine its composition). Teaching labs can be way worse. Earlier this term I had to teach one for 14 hours straight to 14 different groups, I could barely talk by the end of it, my voice was so hoarse.

The problem with labs are, there are always too many steps, and I spend more time focusing on getting all the steps done than actually thinking about what I'm doing. Then after I'm done doing the steps I have to write a lab report. Usually these have to be somewhat formal, meaning, again, instead of thinking about what it was I did, I spend a good 10 hours....in more recented cases, 50 hours, doing clerical type things (which I'm horrible at) trying to get all the data and tables into the report and making it look nice.

Modern education system BS....they should fix it.

Im not in public school anymore, But when I was, in 7th grade we would do labs in science, and my best friend was in that class, we were kinda bad in that class, so the teacher would divide us so we could not do a lab together. So I was usually in a group with people who knew everything, and I didnt. It was worse when I did not understand the subject we were doing, like force, inertia, and stuff like that was very hard for me. So I usually tried to peek at the smart kids paper and copy it on to mine, I got caught one time and they got mad at me. But I hate labs.
