I'm getting my AA so they are basic 3,000 word papers quoting facts basic stuff nothing advanced BTW. I wrote a paper over the 2 week holiday break (on lying) and was planning paper ideas (if I even need to do a paper) for a Biology class/Anatomy class here are my ideas and how far I've gotten in my head ROFL!

(Being immortal) (topic title for paper) Hela cells (They are Immortal OMG AWESOME! talk about where the name came from origins, what research they have helped etc. (Got about 2 paragraphs imagined in my head LOL!)

Is the brain a computer? (title for paper) Do short term long term memory. How it can be affect by accidents (head traumas for example) Or PTSD (reliving 9/11 perhaps) and is there data about people with Autism having awesome memory? Obviously with our special interest and knowing every little detail about said interest. I myself can attest to the memory thing (I remember past events playing my Gameboy/seeing Spider-man with a friend) and remember the plots of books months/years after reading them. (sadly also any data on bad memories do we and if so WHY do we remember the BAD stuff MORE? (that argument with your husband last night for example) :-) (That would be about half the paper if NOT ALL the paper all this info. IMO could equal 3,000 words probably more!! !!)

BUT I'm not even sure if I'm DOING a paper for either course DAY ONE I'm asking the teacher and giving these ideas and see what they think but I thought I'd tell my friends (on FB and here on WP) to get your opinions. :-) Thanks!! (BTW so psyched over my ideas and my mind racing with the ideas I HAD to get up at 12AM and post about them!! !! !) YA! (Now lets just hope I get to do them YES I WANT TO DO A RESEARCH PAPER YES I WANT TO DO A RESEARCH PAPER!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! ROFL!! !! !

Good ideas? Do they suck?

Dude I know you've been talking about getting back into school for a while, I haven't been about much so that's the first I've heard about you starting again. That is awesome.

It's impossible to give advice about a paper if we don't know what exactly is expected, but what I can say is that enthusiasm is by far the best thing you can have going into any class.

Hmm. I'm honestly unsure whether you are talking undergrad or graduate level. Assignment, or serious for real paper.

Either way, I will suggest regardless of situation you investigate the researching community in your local school. I am a 1st year undergrad researcher and I cannot state enough how much you can learn past what you normally would. It's been really hard adapting from just flitting from one idea to the next, not engaging in the proper channels. However I have faith that it is worth it.

You're in the US so you have my sympathies, I attend an (almost) all undergrad school in canada where undergrads do grad student work in their absence, and research work is required for a science degree by at least year 3. Despite if it is more difficult over there, you have that AS obsession thing going, which of course can make you great for research. Show profs you want it, and that you're willing to go nuts over it.

I'm sure by the time you've been hanging out for ever a few months, you'll have no life, no time, and research ideas galore.
