Its possible I will get kicked out after this term if I fail a course since I already failed 3 courses in my university career (1 in 1st year and 2 in second year).

So I am wondering what will happen. Of course, this isn't neccesarily gonna happen for sure but I am wondering what are the ramifications of being kicked out of university. Will other universities accept me? Will people know about it when I am looking for a job even if I eventually get an undergrad degree of some sort in the future?

You might have trouble getting into other universities & not be able to ever continue your previous major (at least at your current university if your ever re-accepted). Also, you will probably need to go to a community college to boost your GPA in order to make up for your previously failed courses.

Don't fail your course! Study, now! (yes, I know hyprocritical of me... see my signature :()

I think the policy may differ from college to college. If your university has a website (most do), it may have a section on what happens if you fail. Alternatively, send an email to admissions and ask them.

Bombing out of college isn't the end of the world, although it may seem like it now. It happened to me and I believe it also happened to Bill Gates. College isn't for everyone despite what they'd have you believe.

I was able to land a job as a senior engineering technician, which is as close to being an engineer without actually having the degree. My skills I attained through some college but mostly though on-the-job-training. I have many of the duties and responsibilities of an engineer though I don't get paid like one!

If you can turn things around academically, that's great. If not, assess your skills. How many credits do you have? What is your intended major? Can you work in the field of your major as a semi-professional ( lab assistant, technician, aide, etc) using the knowledge you have already attained in college? Often times an employer will pay for you to finish your degree.

One dowside to this is that if you are dismissed from a university, you'll have to appeal to be re-instated no matter how long ago that was. For example, I was dismissed from the Univ. Of Maryland way back in 1986. In 2005, I wanted to take a few classes at U. of Md. that interested me simply to further my own knowledge. I was told I had to appeal to be reinstated even after almost 20 years. Needless to say, I took my tuition money elsewhere. They can keep their reinstatement appeal.
