I'm planning on going to college in the fall to get a 4 year degree. Does anyone know how much does getting degree grand total?

It depends, if you go to a state school within your state then you pay less than at a private institute. College costs also depend on whether or not you have scholarship or grants.

If you do the math it ends up being a massive investment. However, lifetime earnings can increase significantly.

Let's see, you are going to Jacksonville University, that is in Florida correct? I think the cost for attending for 4 years will be between $108,270.34 and $113,193.53 based upon the afforementioned college cost calculator and assuming inflation between 5 and 8%. Of course, the cost can be lower based upon financial aid such as scholarships and grants need based and merit based and my work could easily be wrong so you might want to check it. Also, if you think it is too expensive then you could look at other college choices as well, you might also consider getting summer internships to help pay the amount.

However, considering your desire to be an accountant, college will be a good investment as accountants make more money than the average population and accounting is a field that is experiencing much growth. Of course, you can always look at different fields based upon your desires as you stated that you wanted to crunch numbers, if you are good at math then that opens up a lot of doors as good math skills are useful for many fields that have high pay and high demand.

I'm also looking at Bethum Cookman college in Daytona. Tuition per year including room and board is $19,000 a year. The way things look, I should get scholarships from at least Wal-Mart If I get a part time job with them, and the United Methodist Church since Bethum-Cookman is afillimated with the UMC. I should also get some extra grants being a aspie.

The costs goes down significantly if you pick the other choice. I think it drops by about 20,000 dollars. Scholarship definitely helps and I hope you get a nice amount of scholarship. You certainly need to make sure that you pick the choice that you feel to be the best opportunity. After all, a bad environment might be more harmful than a higher price tag. I do wish you luck with your college endeavors most certainly.

I also can go to University Of Florida since they take G.E.Ds. I should proberly stick to a state college because they are way cheaper than private colleges. The prob is I just move to Ohio recently, so I do not know if I could still get the resident tuition instead of paying out of state . I'm still trying to get my GED here.

State schools are often a good choice. They have some disadvantages largely because they have problems giving specialized attention but they also cost less as well. I really don't know if you could get the resident tuition or not, I never really had to deal with that. Most schools do have means for you to contact them so you could try to contact them. If price is an issue you might check out your local community college, take classes there and transfer to a school where you want to get your degree. Most community colleges are cheaper than regular colleges and if they have classes that a school you are looking at would take then it might not be a bad deal. I dunno, I am not an expert on these issues, I do know that college is a good investment though.

Actually a certified public accountant starts out at 40,000 a year depending on things. But if you want to be certified you have to get a masters degree.
