Should some AS people/people with different neurologies be excused from doing Persausive Writing Tasks in English Class?

Should everyone be forced to do writing assignments involving social manipulation and persausion?

E.g.
Adverts
Flyers
Political campaign letters

Should people be forced to do writing tasks that they think are unethical or dishonest?

Should people just do writing tasks that they have a natural mental aptitude for?

Thoughts welcome.

Where do you draw the line between what is ethical and what isn't? For some taxes or abortion are unethical but for others they're entirely permissable. If you allow students or their parents to advocate for their children to work only on what they've already mastered, what's the point? The purpose of school is to teach students things they don't already know, not merely polish what they've already learned.

I don't see how one's disability could hinder their persuasive writing skills. You are already required to do take a bunch of other courses and learn other skills for your college degree, anyway. Some of these skills are vital for the real world.

Oh, la.

I have a brother in law who persuades people when he is just joking, I could not persuade my own gardening mother to buy seed for a school fundraiser.

But this statement is not likely to persuade you.

Of course.
