I've never done anything like this before, but I'm thinking of it. I had a teacher that wasn't THAT bad, but they were short tempered, condescending, and rude. I'm thinking of sending her all my thoughts to her facebook and saying she has no business in education. Could this backfire?

School teacher or college professor? Either way, I would not do it. Sometimes it is best to just let things go (and I realize that this can be very difficult).

At best? The teacher dislikes you if she didn't already, and hates you if she did. At worst? You're no longer attending that particular place of education, and the local authorities ask you kindly to stop harassing people before you get in trouble. In no circumstance do you gain anything. If you really want to write your feelings down, do it, but don't send it to anyone.

Even if I'm not longer in their class?

She could very well "mention" it to a principal/President/department head, no?

If this professor was as bad as you say, why even give them the opportunity to spin anything back at you?

Instead of a nasty message on FB (which is something a 14 year old would do), send a formal complaint to the Dean, and perhaps encourage others that had significant issues w/ her to do likewise. Let a higher-up deal with her.

Write your negative thoughts on ratemyprofessors.com/ratemyteachers.com (depending on if you're in college or high school) instead...

I would but she's adjunct. Adjunct doesn't appear on it. I don't why the flying f*ck they don't, because adjuncts tend to be the worst.

Of course it's going to backfire!

Sending nasty messages of any kind is guaranteed to backfire.

Stay away from your teachers' facebook pages; that's their non-school life and they won't want pupils anywhere near it (unless they're cringingly 'hip')

Sorry I'm being blunt; we've all sent stupid messages from time to time, but since you're asking us beforehand; NO Do not send. There are official channels for this sort of thing; organise a parent-teacher meeting, or even approach them after class.

Harrassing them on their personal facebook page comes across as stalker-y and at worst case may get you kicked out of the class.

The OP could get a lot of self-satisfaction out of it if he felt persecuted by the teacher. Just make sure you don't threaten them in any way. And I certainly wouldn't do it if you're still attending their school.

If you want to send a letter of complaint to the teacher, don't send an angry letter to her Facebook page.

Write a professional letter to her official college e-mail account, and if she doesn't respond, then send a complaint to her department head.

if you have a serious complaint to make then make it to someone higher up than said teacher. that way they will get to hear what you have to say, and you wont get into trouble. we had a teacher who was horrible, and everyone in the class went and complained to the head, and she got sacked. mwahaha. >:) she deserved it. we were all failing because she refused to teach us anything.

Most universities ask for anonymous student reviews of professors at the end of the semester. That is the best avenue for these sort of complaints.
