I don't go to lectures cuz I can't learn by listening. Instead I use the internet and books to learn my own way. Some lecturers upload all the lecture material and email us up to 2 weeks in advance to tell us about a CA test coming up but unfortunately not all lecturers do that. A lecturer I have this semester who happens to be the course coordinator is really making things difficult for me. He refuses to upload lecture notes and he wont tell the students when the CA test until the day it is on. All this to try and force students to go to his lectures. This lecturer happens to be the course coordinator and he has been getting in my way from the start. To get into the course I had to do an interview with him and since I couldn't "sell myself" I botched the interview up completely and if it were up to him I wouldn't be in the college at all. I had to write a letter to the admissions officer explaining that I have high functioning autism and am terrible at interviews but am 100% sure that I will excel in the course. A couple of years later I am doing well in the course and once again this guy is getting in my way because hes too ignorant to comprehend the fact that some students may not conform to his set of standards. I have lost 5% of the marks for that class cuz he didn't tell anyone when the CA test was going to be on. Thats nothing, I'll going to pass this class without a doubt but its not right I'm losing marks for nothing like this. What would be the best course of action to take to get this guy out of my way? I'm thinking about setting up an appointment with him and telling him how it is. If he still insists on refusing to upload the lecture material then I'll take it to the academic coordinators or the principle of the university himself and let them settle it. The principle of the college is a good man, he puts extreme emphasis on ensuring that people of all walks of life can excel in university so he will definitely help me out but hes obviously a busy man and I don't want to take up his time if I don't have to. I've dedicated my life to science, nothing short of a bullet in the head can stop me from becoming one, this guy can either get out of my way or I'm gonna run him down one way or another. I probably sound like an arrogant prick saying that but I literally spend all my waking hours gaining the knowledge I need to know to become a scientist and do my part to advance our current scientific understanding so its not right that some lecturer is impeding my (and other peoples) progress by setting up obstacles for people with alternative styles of learning :x

your Uni should have a learning support center, who should be able to pass on any documentation (ie of a diagnosis and or support needs) to your lecturer. you could also speak to your student advisor. im just speaking from experience here (i have a lecturer who is as obscure as can be etc), but not sure what else to suggest.
