Here is a spot where you can post crazy stories people have told you at school that are probably/definitely NOT true.

I was told by a friend that he used to be really good on the piano, but quit after getting into Carnegie Hall 5 times.

'Take this proffessor's class she's very laid back and her class is a breeze.'

First day in class I learn she's a 60yr old ex-marine who used to teach drill sgt's... who was suffering from some kind of condition that makes her legs swell and be in pain which made her very irritable.

nooo that class was not a breeze 8O

My friend told me he use to surf one day when we were talking about going to the beach, and we were like yeah okay whatever. Only because the friend that told us this is very prone to lying. We went to the beach two weeks later and as I was in the water a huge wave came towards me so I ducked under the water. I came up for a breath of air and saw a surf board coming towards me and I ducked under again. The guy was about a foot away from my head. So later I was sitting on the sand and the same guy came up to me and apologized then offered to teach us how to surf. He's a sponsored surfer and wanted to make it up to us. We helped him round up all six of his surf boards and we went back to the beach. I was on one surf board learning how to get at least on my knees. The guy that told us he use to surf came swimming over to me and I said "Hey why don't you show us what you know." Long story a little bit shorter.... He couldn't even get on the board. lol.

Hhaha, I remember when I was kinda little (like 1st grade) I used to walk home with these older girls (6th grade).
We would walk past this fence that had a dog behind it.
But the dog never barked.
It scratched at the door, I could hear it running around.
But never barked (far as I knew).
They decided to mess with my mind.
They told me that there was a siberian tiger behind there.
Idk why a siberian tiger is anymore scarier than a regular tiger, but to a little kid, it freaked me out even more,
So I would RUN past that house whenever we went past it.
Haha, I was so gullible.
WAS.
lol

Take it from someone with a degree in classical piano. You do not "get in" to Carnegie Hall. You are invited. You will probably not get invited back if you reject the first request. There are competitions that have Carnegie Hall as the prize, but you'd be able to google your friend's name in that case. You also do not "quit" piano once you've become advanced. At the very least, it remains a serious hobby if you've moved on to other things.

A little trick to tell if someone is lying: If their inflection falls flat during the last half of the statement, as in there's no fluctuation in the pitch of their voice, they are lying. Also, if they're just trying to mess with you, they will have an uncharacteristically stoic face or the corners of their mouth will go back a little. Either way, they are trying to surpress a smile.
