The UK has the Open University for anyone with or without any prior qualifications and who can read and write reasonably well can do a degree, starting off with basic certificate courses and working up. Is there anything like this in the U.S.??

Is that the equivalent of community colleges? They generally have no entrance requirements other than either high school/GED and functional reading and math skills.

Its sort of like a degree via correspondence course and stuff, although it is a lot more demanding than most correspondence courses, and it's generally cheaper then going to It's also more respected then the majority of correspondence courses.

It has an open entry policy, i.e. students' previous academic achievements are not taken into account for entry to most undergraduate courses.

Community colleges, and schools like the University of Phoenix, and Devry Often have classes you can take either online, or in person.
