If you were smart Rice would be on this list, but instead I'm going with the blue field. Boise St. all the way.

I don't know if you're aware of the huge cultural difference between Boise and Missoula. Southern Idaho was originally settled as part of deseret, the mormon country - nobody recognized it, but that's what it was. The mormon cultural influence remains strong in southern idaho. Missoula had a completely different origin.

Some non-mormons feel comfortable around mormons, but they're all dumb-ass rednecks. You can be rich and still be a redneck. If you're thinking of subjecting yourself to the cultural shock of not seeing dead armadillos by the road beneath signs full of bullet holes in a featureless landscape. I'd suggest making a trip to check out both towns and decide which you like better. I don't know anything about either school's academic programs in geology.

Disclaimer: I've been around southern idaho, but I've hardly been to boise.

You should definently go to University of Houston no doubt about it. Both of my parents went there and they absolutely loved it. Plus, I don't know if they do this anymore, but they used to walk a live cougar around campus. Mom said it took six people to walk her. lol And both of my parents are very, very successful thanks to U of H. Plus Houston's a wonderful city as well. You'll love it!

Check out St. Edward's University in Austin. I'm going there now and I absolutely love it. It is an entirely different approach to learning and very aspie-friendly. I absolutely hated school before I started going there and now I'm maintaining a 3.9 GPA.
