I'm having this problem right now. People are expecting me to get work done in my own time, when I would much rather be on the forus enjoying myself. but that's the thing with being a Year 10, and I bet it's only going to get worse. That's why I made my signature say what it says, it's a quote from a Sum 41 song. I heard this line in the song and thought "That's so true".

But I still want my free time. What can I do?

You balance the time, or give up (don't give up).

You could try doing the homework during your classes. I do, and some of my teachers don't say anything. There are a few classes I know not to do work in, namely classes that grade on participation. If you're bright enough to retain what your teachers are saying as well as whatever homework you're doing, it won't hurt your memorization [I refuse to call it learning], or your grades.

You'll still have to do some work outside of class. But you can get the math-type stuff done in school and have the easier reading-type stuff done at home. That stuff's usually more interesting anyways.
